FAQs about Card Management and Fees

Choose the most convenient payment method for you: 

• With a standing order from your deposit account. You can easily set up a standing order using myAlpha Web. 
  
• From your computer through myAlpha Web. 
  
• From your mobile phone through myAlpha Mobile. 
  
• Over the phone through myAlpha Phone. 
  
• At an Alpha Bank ΑΤΜ or Automated Payment System. 
  
• At any Alpha Bank branch. 

You can change your transaction and cash withdrawal limits.

From your computer through myAlpha Web.

1. Find your card on the home screen (Overview).
   
2. Click on the 3 dots on the right of the card and choose “Security settings”.
   
3. In the field “Cash withdrawal limit” or “Transaction limit”, click on “Change”.    
   
4. Fill in the new daily limit you want, up to €3,000, and choose “Save”.

From your mobile through myAlpha Mobile:

1. On the home screen, scroll down to the “Cards” section and tap on the card you want.
2. Tap on “Settings”.
3. Scroll down to the “Change limits” section and tap on “Change” next to the limit you want to change (cash withdrawal or transaction).
4. Fill in the new daily limit you want, up to €3,000, and choose “Save”.  

You can only change the credit limit and cash withdrawal limit.

To change the credit limit

Send an email to customerservice@alpha.gr, mentioning: 

• The new credit card limit you need. 
  
• Your card details (number, Visa or Mastercard, etc.).
  
• Your most recent income tax clearance certificate. 
  
• Your most recent payslip (if you are on a payroll). 

To change the cash withdrawal limit

From your computer through  myAlpha Web:

1. Find your card on the home screen (Overview).
   
2. Click on the 3 dots on the right of the card and choose “Security settings”.
   
3. In the “Cash withdrawal limit” field, click on “Change”.    
4. Fill in the new daily limit you want, up to €3,000, and choose “Save”.

From your mobile through myAlpha Mobile:

1. On the home screen, scroll down to the “Cards” section and tap on the card you want.
   
2. Tap on “Settings”.
   
3. Scroll down to the “Change limits” section and tap on “Change” next to the cash withdrawal limit.
   
4. Fill in the new daily limit you want, up to €3,000, and choose “Save”.  
   

Yes. Some payments can be made in interest-free instalments.

You can fully manage your debit, credit and prepaid cards through myAlpha Web and myAlpha Mobile. Specifically, you have the following options:

For your security

• Activate and cancel your cards.
• View the card activity and save copies of your statements.
• Report a stolen or lost card, automatically cancel it and opt for a replacement.
• Block or unblock your cards.
• Get an SMS with your card PIN on your registered mobile phone number, free of charge.
• Activate and deactivate the option to use your card for online transactions, and transactions at an ATM or POS.
  

For you transactions

• Pay your credit card.
• Change the daily purchase limit on your debit cards.
• Change the daily cash withdrawal limit on your credit and debit cards.
• Top up your prepaid cards or remove funds from them.
• Transfer Bonus points to other card holders. 
  

In addition, only through myAlpha Web you can:

• Activate and deactivate the option to pay off your credit cards.

• Change the account linked to your card and/or link another account.
• Activate Alpha alerts for your cards and specify how you want to receive notifications according to your preferences.
  

You can ask us to remind you your PIN online: 

From your computer through myAlpha Web 

1. Find your card on the home screen (Overview). 
   
2. Click on the 3 dots on the right of the card and choose “Send PIN”. 
   
3. Confirm that your mobile phone number is correct and click on “Send”. If you wish to receive your PIN on another mobile number, you should first update your contact details, and specifically your mobile number.
   

From your mobile phone through myAlpha Mobile 

1. On the home screen, scroll down to the Cards section and tap on the card you need a new PIN for. 
2. Tap on “Settings”. 
3. Tap on “Send PIN”. 
4. Confirm that your mobile phone number is correct and tap on “Send”. If you wish to receive your PIN on another mobile number, you should first update your contact details, and specifically your mobile number.

Yes, from a linked account.

You can set up or change your card payment method from your computer through myAlpha Web:

• Find your card on the home screen (Overview).
• Click on the 3 dots on the right of the card and choose “Card details”.
• In the “Direct debit” section, choose whether you want the card to be paid automatically or not. In addition, you can choose whether you want to pay off the entire balance each month (Current balance) or just make the minimum payment.
• In the “Primary Linked account” field, choose the account you want to use to pay your card bill.
  

Yes, from your computer through myAlpha Web:

1. Find your card on the home screen (Overview).
2. Click on the 3 dots on the right of the card and choose “Card details”.
3. In the “Primary Linked account” field, choose the account you want to link your card to.
   

If you like, you can link your card to more than 1 accounts to withdraw cash. When you shop, only the primary account linked to the card is charged.

You can check your Affinity euros online at any time.

You can also check your Affinity euros:

• On your monthly credit card e-statement. 
• On your e-Banking, through myAlpha Mobile or through myAlpha Web.

You can check your Energy euros online at any time.

You can also check your Energy euros:

• On your monthly credit card e-statement. 
• On your e-Banking, through myAlpha Mobile or through myAlpha Web.

Yes, they are absolutely safe, as they allow you to always hold the actual card in your hands. What is more, contactless transaction cards: 

• Use Chip & PIN technology to secure your transactions. 
• Meet the specifications set by Visa, Mastercard and Diners.  

However, you must never share your PIN with any other person. Find out more about the security of your transactions. 

Personal or business debit, credit and prepaid cards which are:

• Issued for the first time.
• Re-issued with the same number, in case or loss or theft of the card.

Yes, you do (e.g. collecting and redeeming Bonus points, Affinity euros, Energy euros). It applies to all debit, credit and prepaid cards issued by Alpha Bank, with the exception of:

• Aegean Bonus Visa debit card
• Aegean Bonus Visa credit card
• Aegean Bonus Visa Premium credit card

For these cards, you enjoy all the benefits once you receive the actual card and activate it.

Log into myAlpha Mobile. Tap on your card on the Overview page. Then tap on “Card Info”. 

To view your card details, the device will ask for the 4-digit PIN you have set for logging into myAlpha Mobile or biometrics. Now you can see the:

• Card number
• Expiry date 
• 3-digit CVV
  

Yes. However, once you activate the virtual use of your card, you can no longer use your old one.

For example, you won’t be able to withdraw cash from ATMs with the card you already hold until you receive your new one.

When your card has expired, we have to issue a replacement, for which operating costs apply. Administrative fees cover this cost and are only charged on cards with no annual fee.
