The excess is the part of your hospitalisation costs that you have to pay on your own. You can choose among 5 options: €500, €1,500, €3,000, €5,000, or €9,000.
You do not need to pay anything:
- When you are hospitalised through your social insurance fund and have opted for €500 as your excess.
- When you need to undergo surgery for serious medical conditions, such as heart disease or cancer, are hospitalised through your insurance fund, and have opted for €1,500 as your excess.
- Every time you are hospitalised after your 2nd hospitalisation within the same year.
- In case of emergency hospitalisation abroad.
