What can I do with IRIS payments?

Transfer or receive money, pay professionals and shop online only using your smartphone.

To and from your contacts

  • Transfer up to €1,000 to individuals from your mobile phone, without needing to know the account holder’s IBAN. You just need to know their mobile number or email.
  • Receive up to €1,000 a day, without the sender needing to know your IBAN. They just need to know your mobile phone number or email.
  • If a friend needs money, you receive a text message and can decide whether to transfer the amount, provided both of you have activated IRIS payments with Alpha Bank.
  • Carry out up to 15 transactions a day.

To freelance professionals and sole proprietorships

Pay professionals up to €1,000 a day from your mobile phone through myAlpha Mobile, without necessarily knowing their IBAN. They just need to have activated IRIS payments for professionals and sole proprietorships. You can transfer money in 2 ways:

  • Fill in the tax number or the mobile number of the business, if it’s been registered in the service. 
  • Scan the QR code of the business, provided they have issued one and made it available to you.

At all businesses

Scan the QR code from a POS or other payment acceptance device and pay at any business.

Carry out the payment through myAlpha Mobile, without necessarily having activated IRIS payments.

At e-shops, without a card

Shop online without a card. Pay directly from your bank account, through your mobile. The daily limit is €1,000. This includes payments to professionals and businesses.

You can either log in using your e-Banking credentials or scan the QR code.

As long as the online store has added IRIS payments for e-shops to their payment methods.

Activate IRIS payments

Log into myAlpha Mobile with your e-Banking credentials.

1. Choose IRIS payments

On the main menu, tap on “IRIS payments” and then swipe left twice.

2. Choose accounts and how to receive money

Choose:

  • Debit account – the account from which you will be sending money.
  • Credit account – the account where you’ll receive the money.
  • Find me through – how you want money to be sent, using your mobile number or your email address.

3. Activate the e-statements

Tick the box to accept the terms of use and then tap on “Service Activation”.

4. Authenticate your mobile number

Choose if you want to authenticate your mobile through Viber or SMS.

Enter the 6-digit code you received as you chose to and tap on “Continue”.

5. Authenticate your email

Fill in the 6-digit code you received by email to authenticate it. Tap on “Continue”.

All set! Now you can start using IRIS payments.

How can I transfer money through IRIS payments to an individual?

Log into myAlpha Mobile and follow the steps.

  1. On the main menu, tap on “IRIS payments” and then choose “Using mobile number, email or tax number”.
  2. Tap on “Send”.
  3. On the screen that appears, choose whether you want to send money to an individual or a company, and then a contact to transfer the money. If you know that the recipient has activated the service, you can fill in directly their mobile number, email or tax number.
  4. Enter the amount you want to send and then tap on “Continue”.
  5. On the screen that appears with the transfer details, tap on “Send” to complete the transaction.

How can I shop online using IRIS payments?

It takes a few steps to shop online and charge the amount directly to your account:

  1. On the e-shop payment screen, choose IRIS as the payment method.
  2. Choose if you want to pay by scanning a QR code or through your e-Banking.
  3. Scan the QR code that appears on the page or choose Alpha Bank from the bank list to log into your e-Banking.
  4. Check the order details and choose the account to be charged.
  5. If you want, you can print out the payment receipt.
