Alpha alerts service gives you real-time updates by Viber or SMS and/or email whenever a transaction is carried out with your card, any time of the day.

Thus, you can feel more secure and be thoroughly updated about all your transactions with Alpha Bank cards.

How does the service work? 

Use Alpha alerts service to get real-time alerts by Viber or SMS to your mobile phone:
  • every time you make a transaction with your card at any merchant in Greece, abroad or on the internet, unless you ask for an update about specific transactions and sums (e.g. purchases or withdrawals, all transactions or any transaction over Euro 100 or Euro 300);
  • for every cash withdrawal from your card's credit line (cash advance) at any ATM in Greece and abroad
  • for withdrawals from any linked bank account at any ATM in Greece and abroad. 

The informative Viber or SMS you receive indicates:

  • the card used to make the transaction
  • the last 4 digits of the card
  • the hour and date you made the transaction
  • the amount and currency of the transaction
  • the name of the department store
  • the country where the transaction took place.

More options

  • In addition to Viber or SMS, you can also receive an email at the e-mail address you gave upon registration
  • You can also select time periods (e.g. 14:30- 17:30 and 22:00- 09:00) during which you won't receive any Viber or SMS. Any message generated during those periods will be sent after they end.
  • You can also receive, via Push Notifications, informational messages about the transactions you make with your cards*, and also information such as card activation messages, due date messages for credit cards, etc., as long as you have myAlpha Mobile installed on your mobile phone and Push Notifications enabled.

Service cost
The cost of Alpha alerts service amounts to Euro 1 per month, per card.

TERMS OF SERVICE

The main holder can register additional cards for the service and also alerts can be sent at a different mobile phone number and at a different email address than the main holder's address.

Frequent questions

If I lose my card, will Alpha alerts be activated on the new card?

Yes. No action is necessary on your part.

The service is updated automatically when a new card is issued due to theft/loss/change. You will be getting alerts for your new card soon.

I used my card or account, but I did not receive an alert. Why is that?

This may have happened for a number of reasons. For example:

  • There was a technical issue with your telecommunications service provider.
  • The inbox on your email account or mobile phone was full.
  • The message went to the Spam folder because Alpha Bank has not been included in the safe sender list.
  • Your mobile phone reception was poor.
  • You have no Wi-Fi or data connection to receive the alert on Viber.

Can I activate Alpha alerts on all my Alpha Bank cards?

Yes, you can activate Alpha alerts on all your personal cards:

  • Through myAlpha Web.
  • Over the phone on +302103260000.

If you are the main card holder, you can also activate this service on additional cards.

You cannot activate alerts on business cards.
