How you carry out transactions with your physical card

By inserting your card

You can carry out all transactions (withdrawals, deposits, transfers, payments and balance checks) by inserting your card in the slot.

If you hold a card issued by another bank in Greece or abroad, you can only make withdrawals, check your balance, change your PIN and unlock your card.

With contactless technology

At Alpha Bank ATMs you can also carry out contactless transactions with your card, without inserting it in the machine. Just tap it on the contactless reader. You cannot activate your card and change your PIN using the contactless reader, though.

If you hold a card issued by another bank in Greece or abroad, you can only make withdrawals and check your balance using the contactless reader.

Our ATMs are equipped with a barcode reader so you can pay your bills in a flash, without entering the electronic payment code. Just make sure there’s a barcode on your bill.

During the transaction, a sample of the bill you're paying appears on screen, indicating the location of the barcode.

  1. Locate the barcode on your bill.
  2. Scan the barcode on the ATM barcode reader and pay.
