FAQs about e-Banking for New Customers

Yes. You only need a few minutes and 2 supporting documents to open your first account through your mobile phone, daily from 07:30 to 23:30. You do not need to visit a branch.

1.  Download and install the myAlpha Mobile app.
2. Take photos of your face and your ID card or passport. Start a video call with an Alpha Bank employee.
3. Take a photo of your income tax clearance certificate or upload it.
4. Accept the Terms and Conditions for banking with us.

When you open a new account, you automatically get:

• A debit card for purchases and cash withdrawals.
• e-Banking credentials to manage your account online.

You must:

• Be over 18 years old.
• Have a mobile phone and an email account.
• Be a permanent resident in Greece.
• Have a Greek tax number only.
• Not be the main holder in any other Alpha Bank account.

You will also need:

• Your ID card or passport issued in any EU country.
• Your last income tax clearance certificate. If you do not have one, you can use your tax number issuance certificate instead.

Within 3 months from the account opening date, you must provide proof of:

• Occupation – This can be a payslip, a pension slip or any other relevant document certifying your occupation.
• Address – This can be a utility bill or any other document certifying your address.

Yes. You can pause the process and continue from the step where you left off, at any time within the next 3 months. All you have to do is use the credentials you created at the beginning of the process:

• Username – your confirmed email address.
• Password – the password you created when you registered on the myAlpha Mobile app.

Yes. Your account ΙΒΑΝ is created automatically and is ready to use.

At the same time:

• You gain access to myAlpha Mobile and myAlpha Web.
• We will send you your new debit card by regular mail. When you receive the card, you can activate it online.
• Once all 3 products (account, e-Banking, card) have been created/issued, we will email you the respective terms and conditions, and agreements.

The €15,000 limit that appears on your account means that you cannot deposit a larger sum to your account before your details have been fully confirmed.

Once you have provided proof of occupation and work address, either online or at one of our branches, the limit will be lifted automatically.

If you do not provide the necessary supporting documents within the 3-month window, you will no longer be able to credit any amount.
