What’s the interest rate
The annual nominal interest rate for the Alpha Education student loan is 10.50%. It is fixed for the entire loan term.
The Law 128/1975 levy, currently 0.60%, is added to the interest rate.

For a €5,000 loan with 10.50% fixed nominal interest rate, 0.60% Law 128/1975 levy, 60-month term and €180 loan fee, the Annual Percentage Rate of Charge (APRC) is 13.45%.
What are the loan amount and term
From €1,500 to €30,000
Depending on your needs and the way you obtain the loan, you borrow:
- From €3.001 to €15,000 through e-Banking
- From €1,500 to €30,000 by applying at a branch
From 6 to 96 months
Repay the Alpha Education student loan in 6-96 years, depending on your finances.
What’s the loan fee
€180 for us to process your application.
We deduct the amount at disbursement, meaning, when we deposit the loan amount into your account.
How you repay it
With interest-bearing monthly instalments
Each month, you pay interest-bearing instalments, repaying both interest and capital:
- Automatically with a standing order from your account.
- Online through myAlpha Web or myAlpha Mobile.
- Over the phone with myAlpha Phone.
- At Automated Payment Systems (APS) only in cash and using any active Alpha Bank card for the required authentication.
- At ATMs with an Alpha Bank card.
- At one of our branches.

You may repay your loan at any time, without any additional charges.

Through the Alpha Education student loan you secure financing to fund your own or your children’s studies. The loan amount helps cover expenses, such as:
- Tuition fees for any educational level, including postgraduate degrees.
- Foreign language lessons.
- Educational material and electronic equipment.
- Living costs for studying away from home, in Greece or abroad.
Can I get the Alpha Education student loan?
Apply provided you...
- Are up to 75 years old at loan maturity.
- Live permanently and are taxed in Greece.
- Have updated your details at Alpha Bank.
- Hold a simple bank account with Alpha Bank.
- Have e-Banking credentials, if you apply online.

- Income tax clearance certificate (last year)
- Copy of monthly payslip or pension slip (recent)
- Documents proving the purpose of the loan (college or university certificate of enrollment, or receipts for books or foreign language lessons)

Apply for a personal loan
1. Set up your loan
Log into myAlpha Mobile or myAlpha Web with your credentials. In the “New products” section, choose: Personal loans > Get a loan.
Enter the amount, term and the needs you want to meet with the loan. Then have a look at the features of the loan we propose.

2. Apply in 5 steps
- Choose the account where we’ll deposit the loan amount and from which you’ll be paying the instalment.
- Accept the pre-contractual information for the loan and the Alpha Bank personal data notices.
- Answer 4 or 5 short questions.
- Upload the necessary supporting documents.
- Check the loan details and submit the application.
3. Wait for your application assessment
We assess your application and inform you of the result by email.
We may approve or reject your application, come up with a new proposal or request a guarantor.
4. Sign the agreement digitally
Provided your application has been approved, you digitally sign the agreement with a 6-digit code you receive on your mobile. Right after, we send you your loan agreement to your email. The agreement is also available on your e-Banking.
You see the deadline for signing it. After this time, the application is cancelled and you need to start over.
5. Get the money in your account
We immediately deposit the amount of the personal loan in the account you have chosen.
We automatically collect the loan fee as soon as the amount is deposited.

What documents do I need to apply for a personal loan?
- Income tax clearance certificate (last year) or, if you are a foreign citizen, of the last 2 years.
- Copy of monthly payslip or pension slip (recent), if you are receiving your salary or pension at another bank.
- ID card, if you are a foreign citizen from an EU country, or passport and residence permit if you are a citizen of a non-EU country.
- Documents proving the purpose of the loan
Freelance professionals may also need:
- Periodical VAT returns and proof of submission through Taxisnet
- The latest E3 form and N Form
- Insurance clearance certificate

When do I need a guarantor for my loan?
You need a guarantor when:
- We consider it necessary based on your credit history.
- You are expected to be over 75 years old at loan maturity. In that case, you must have a guarantor who will not be over 75 years old at loan maturity.
The guarantor must meet the same conditions as you.
