What documents do I need to apply for a business loan?

The documents verifying the details of your business.

We may ask for additional supporting documents, depending on:

  • The loan purpose
  • Any collateral

What supporting documents do I need to bring to the branch to verify the details of my business?

For your business financial details

For businesses with class B accounting books:

  1. Copy of E3 tax form for the last 3 closed financial years. If the most recent year isn’t closed, submit periodic VAT returns instead. 
  2. Periodic VAT returns for the current financial year and the corresponding ones for the previous year.
  3. Copy of the latest E1 tax form, only for sole proprietorships.
  4. ENFIA (unified property tax) certificate for legal entities.

For businesses with class C accounting books:

  1. Balance sheets for the last 3 closed financial years, including income statements, related annex, and company stamp and signatures of representatives.
  2. Subsidiary ledger trial balance for December of the previous financial year, if not closed, listing stocktaking information, activity for the period, monthly activity and balances. 
  3. Subsidiary ledger trial balance for the current period and the corresponding one for the previous year, listing stocktaking information, activity for the period, monthly activity and balances.
  4. ENFIA (unified property tax) certificate for legal entities.

For the investor or legal representative

  1. Copy of valid ID card or passport
  2. Tax return statement for the last 2 years or copy of the E1 tax form for each partner / main shareholder / guarantor
  3. ENFIA (unified property tax) certificate for each partner / main shareholder / guarantor

How do I make an early full or partial repayment of my business loan?

Is there an extra charge if I repay my business loan earlier?

If you have opted for a floating rate and you pay your loan consistently, you may pay additional instalments or even repay the entire loan amount earlier at no extra charge.

If you’ve chosen a fixed rate, there might be an extra charge for early repayment. To be sure, check the terms of your agreement or book an appointment with a representative at the branch where you took out the loan.

What kind of collateral may be required?

To offer you a business loan, we may ask for collateral.

In the form of a mortgage lien on:

  • Commercial property – office, retail store, hotel, warehouse
  • Home – house, apartment, housing estate

In the form of pledging:

  • Receivables
  • Equipment – mechanical or professional equipment, vehicles
  • Cash

What’s the collateral release process when I fully repay my business loan?

Which businesses are considered micro, small or medium-sized?

According to Commission Recommendation 280/1996 and the new Recommendation 361/2003:

Micro businesses are those that:

  1. Employ < 10 persons 
  2. Have an annual turnover or an annual balance sheet total ≤ €2 million

Small businesses are those that:

  1. Employ < 50 persons 
  2. Have an annual turnover or an annual balance sheet total ≤ €10 million

Medium-sized businesses are those that:

  1. Employ < 250 persons 
  2. Have an annual turnover ≤ €50 million or an annual balance sheet total ≤ €43 million

About property and equipment leasing

Do any conditions apply for the property?

The property must be:

  • Built in line with the urban planning or other relevant provisions.
  • Legal.
  • Used for the tenant’s activity.

When do I need a guarantor for the leasing agreement?

What costs are not covered by the equipment leasing agreement?

After signing the equipment leasing agreement, you undertake the costs of:

  • Maintenance
  • Replacement in case of theft or damage
  • Spare parts
  • Taxes, vehicle registration fees or vehicle registration certificate, in the case of vehicles.

What are the types of equipment I cannot get with leasing?

Alpha Leasing does not finance:

  • Works and maintenance
  • Service provision
  • Licenses and software
  • Fixed equipment

Can I add additional equipment to an existing agreement?

Yes. You can apply to Alpha Leasing

Can I buy out my property lease?

Yes, provided 3 years have passed. For the buyout, you pay:

  1. The rent remaining until the end of the lease, with the contract interest rate reduced by an agreed percentage.
  2. The predetermined buyout fee.
