The loan is supported by the European Union in the context of the InvestEU Fund, established pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2021/523 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 March 2021, and is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, by financially supporting Greece through the InvestEU Member State Compartment for Greece, with funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, as part of Greece's National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

What are the loan amount and collateral

Up to €7.5 million with guarantee by the EIF

We offer financing up to €7.5 million with the following guarantee by the EIF:

  • 80% for working capital and investments for green upgrades through the Sustainability programme.
  • 80% for working capital and investments for digital upgrades and innovation through the Innovation and Digitilisation programme.
  • 50% for working capital through the SME Competitiveness programme.

With or without collateral

For the SME Competitiveness programme no collateral is required. It is possible that we may request personal guarantees, though.

For the Sustainability and Innovation and Digitilisation programmes we may request collateral, according to our lending policy.

What’s the interest rate

Floating or fixed interest rate

Choose whether you want fixed or floating rate based on the 3-month Euribor + spread.

For the final interest rate, we take into account:

  • Your credit history
  • Our credit policy
  • The InvestEU Fund guarantee

The Law 128/1975 levy (currently 0.60%) is added to the final interest rate.

No guarantee commission

You pay no commission for the EIF guarantee, while the loan is considered “state-aid fee”, i.e. it is not included in the aid ceilings.

What are the loan term and repayment method

Repayment in up to 12 years

The loan term depends on the type of financing:

  • 12-72 months for fixed-term working capital loans
  • 36-72 months for revolving working capital facilities
  • 12-132 months for investment loans

Flexible repayment schedule

You can adapt your loan payments according to your business needs and cash flow:

  • Equal instalments that pay interest and capital
  • Equal or unequal instalments that pay capital
  • Payment every 1, 3 or 6 months

Especially for working capital needs, you can choose revolving working capital.

Which businesses are eligible

Company legal form

For the SME Competitiveness programme your business must be small- or medium-sized  of any legal status (sole proprietorship, general partnership, limited partnership, limited liability company, private company, SA).  

For the Sustainability and Innovation and Digitilisation programmes your business must be:

  • A small- or medium-sized  enterprise of any legal status (sole proprietorship, general partnership, limited partnership, limited liability company, private company, SA).  
  • A small mid-cap, i.e. employ fewer than 500 persons, and not be an SME.

What supporting documents do I need to bring to the branch to verify the details of my business?

For your business financial details

For businesses with class B accounting books:

  1. Copy of E3 tax form for the last 3 closed financial years. If the most recent year isn’t closed, submit periodic VAT returns instead. 
  2. Periodic VAT returns for the current financial year and the corresponding ones for the previous year.
  3. Copy of the latest E1 tax form, only for sole proprietorships.
  4. ENFIA (unified property tax) certificate for legal entities.

For businesses with class C accounting books:

  1. Balance sheets for the last 3 closed financial years, including income statements, related annex, and company stamp and signatures of representatives.
  2. Subsidiary ledger trial balance for December of the previous financial year, if not closed, listing stocktaking information, activity for the period, monthly activity and balances. 
  3. Subsidiary ledger trial balance for the current period and the corresponding one for the previous year, listing stocktaking information, activity for the period, monthly activity and balances.
  4. ENFIA (unified property tax) certificate for legal entities.

For the investor or legal representative

  1. Copy of valid ID card or passport
  2. Tax return statement for the last 2 years or copy of the E1 tax form for each partner / main shareholder / guarantor
  3. ENFIA (unified property tax) certificate for each partner / main shareholder / guarantor

Which businesses are considered micro, small or medium-sized?

According to Commission Recommendation 280/1996 and the new Recommendation 361/2003:

Micro businesses are those that:

  1. Employ < 10 persons 
  2. Have an annual turnover or an annual balance sheet total ≤ €2 million

Small businesses are those that:

  1. Employ < 50 persons 
  2. Have an annual turnover or an annual balance sheet total ≤ €10 million

Medium-sized businesses are those that:

  1. Employ < 250 persons 
  2. Have an annual turnover ≤ €50 million or an annual balance sheet total ≤ €43 million

What kind of collateral may be required?

To offer you a business loan, we may ask for collateral.

In the form of a mortgage lien on:

  • Commercial property – office, retail store, hotel, warehouse
  • Home – house, apartment, housing estate

In the form of pledging:

  • Receivables
  • Equipment – mechanical or professional equipment, vehicles
  • Cash
