How are medical tests covered
With the Alpha Health Care insurance plan we offer in partnership with Generali and the Affidea Group, you secure access to medical services such as prevention, diagnosis and emergencies for you and your children.
Diagnostic tests
Depending on the package you choose, the maximum limit for diagnostic tests every year is:
- €4,000 for the Advance package
- €2,000 for the Standard package
Your excess is:
- 10% for all tests with a doctor’s referral without an e-prescription
- 0% for all tests with a doctor’s referral and an e-prescription
Medical consultations
Get unlimited medical consultations with Affidea Group doctors or affiliated network doctors across Greece. You also have access to medical certificates and test evaluations issued by the doctors.
At €20/consultation you may schedule appointments with specialists: Allergy Specialist, Cardiologist, Dermatologist, Endocrinologist-Diabetes Specialist, ENT Specialist, Gastroenterologist, GP, General Surgeon, Gynaecologist, Internist, Neurologist, Neurosurgeon, Nephrology Specialist, Oncologist, Ophthalmologist, Orthopaedic Specialist, Paediatrician, Pulmonologist, Rheumatologist, Urologist, Vascular Surgeon.
The specialists may differ from area to area.
Home visits
If you cannot travel due to accident or illness and live in Attica or Thessaloniki, with Alpha Health Care an internist or GP may come to you:
- At €40 / home visit on weekdays (06:00-22:00)
- At €60 / home visit on weekends, after hours and on holidays
How are emergencies covered
Medical emergencies
With Alpha Health Care you secure coverage for:
- Medical emergencies at affiliated hospitals IASO, IASO Children's Hospital, IASO Thessaly, Euromedica General Clinic and Euromedica Blue Cross Clinic
- Specific medical procedures at special rates
- Free diagnostic tests up to €200
- Free ambulance transfer (within Attica and Thessaloniki) in case of admission at IASO, IASO Children's Hospital, Euromedica General Clinic and Euromedica Blue Cross Clinic
Loss of life
In the event of loss of life, the amount of €3,000 is paid to the legal heirs of the policyholder.

Secure access to healthcare services from €95/year depending on the Alpha Health Care outpatient package you choose:

With the Advance package you also get:

Payment by standing order
You may pay the premium with a standing order on your account or credit/debit card.
Payments can be made every month, 3 months, 6 months or year.

With Alpha Health Care you pay less for:
- Physiotherapy – €20/session or €30/at-home session
- At-home blood collection – €8 on business days in Attica, Thessaloniki, Chania, Irakleio, Kavala and Kozani or €10 on Saturdays in Attica
- Aesthetic medicine – favourable price list, 20% discount on injectable therapies and 30% on other procedures
- Rehabilitation – 20% discount at partner rehabilitation and recovery centres
- Dental procedures – favourable price list and 50% discount on the dentist’s private price list for other procedures (e.g. €15 for fillings, €15 for dental cleaning)
- Home nursing – favourable price list (e.g. €16 for patient monitoring and vital sign recording)
Free annual check-up
With the Alpha Health Care insurance plan you get a free check-up every year. The blood tests differ, depending on the package you choose (Standard or Advance).
With the Advance package, you may choose between an additional test or a free prenatal check-up at the start of pregnancy.
Discounts at partner hospitals
Enjoy favourable pricing at partner hospitals IASO, IASO Children's Hospital, IASO Thessaly, Euromedica General Clinic and Euromedica Blue Cross Clinic.
Children are entitled to a 20% discount on the private price list.
Can I get the insurance plan?
Apply provided you...
- Are up to 70 years old and any other policyholders are from 30 days to 70 years old.
- Live permanently in Greece.
- Have e-Banking credentials (if you want to apply online) or have booked an appointment at an Alpha Bank branch.

Apply for Alpha Health Care online
1. Choose Alpha Health Care
Log into myAlpha Mobile or myAlpha Web with your credentials. In the “New products” section, choose: Insurance > Health insurance.
Read the benefits of each package and the useful documents, and choose "Get insured".
2. Choose payment frequency and package
Choose how often you want to pay your premium and then “Continue”.
Read the information for each package, choose the one that best meets your needs and then: Get this one > Continue.
3. Accept the terms and confirm your details
Read and accept:
- The terms and conditions
- The insurance need document
- Generali’s notice on the processing of personal data
Choose: I consent > Confirm.
4. Confirm your details and choose account
Check that all your details are correct.
If any of them are not correct, update your details before continuing.
Choose the account from which you want to pay your premium and choose “Continue”.
5. Check the insurance details and confirm the application
Review your application details and choose: I consent > Continue.
- On myAlpha Web, fill in the 6-digit code you received on your mobile and click on “Continue”.
- On myAlpha Mobile, confirm using your biometrics or your 4-digit PIN and tap on “Continue”.
6. Complete the application
Download and read your Alpha Health Care application. Declare that you agree with the application and choose “Submit”.
If your application is approved, Generali will email you the policy at the email address you registered.

What is a diagnostics insurance plan?
It provides coverage for diagnostic tests for health conditions due to illness or accident.
The tests covered by the plan are exclusively carried out by affiliated diagnostic centres, clinics and doctors anywhere in Greece.
What are the waiting periods for the policies?
- 7 days in case of accident
- 30 days in all other cases
- 3 months for prenatal check-up
- 1 year for thyroid check-up and heart pulsed-wave Doppler ultrasound
