What’s the premium and the term

The premium is €38 / year.

Pay the premium by standing order from the account you choose when you apply. Alternatively, you can set up a standing order on your credit card.

The term of the policy is 1 year and it is renewed automatically.

How to make a claim

Call Generali to report the theft or loss of personal belongings and make a claim:

Then, Generali assesses your claim and starts the payment process.

To make a claim, your card has to be stolen or lost together with your personal belongings.

 
Tip: If you suspect that your card has been lost or stolen, you can cancel or temporarily lock it online.

How you’re covered against money or card theft or loss

Get compensated if: 

  • You are robbed at an ATM.
  • Your card is stolen or lost and used by a third party. Illegal use has to occur after the card is stolen or lost, and up to the moment it is deactivated.

What are the coverage limits

The cumulative maximum coverage limits for each insurance term are:

  • €500 for all cards and €600 for gold cards, in case of money theft
  • €2,500 for all cards and €4,500 for gold cards, in case of card loss or theft

How you are covered against the loss of personal belongings

Get compensated for:

  • Expenses you made to replace lost or stolen documents.
  • The cost of replacing your keys and locks, if your keys are lost or stolen.
  • Calls made by others, after your mobile was stolen.
  • New bag and/or wallet, if they are lost or stolen.
  • Mobile and/or tablet replacement, if they are lost or stolen.

What are the coverage limits

The cumulative maximum coverage limits for each insurance term are:

  • €250
  • €300 in case of mobile phone or tablet theft
 

How you are covered for medical expenses

You are compensated for medical expenses incurred in case of card theft following an assault.

Expenses include medical, pharmaceutical or other treatment (such as physical therapy or X-rays, medical consultations, lab tests, outpatient treatment at hospitals or clinics etc.).

The cumulative maximum coverage limit for each insurance term is €600.

How to make a claim

To make a claim, you need to submit the original receipts for services rendered, as well as any other documents Generali may request to verify the conditions of the incident.

A necessary condition is for the police and an Emergency Response Centre (EKAV) ambulance to have been called at the scene and have reported the incident.
