A celebration of corporate culture

Centred at the premises of the Athens Conservatoire, but also featuring live connections to hubs in Athens, Thessaloniki, Kalamata, Crete, London, Luxembourg and Cyprus, Alpha Day, Alpha Bank’s 1st Culture Day, took place on Tuesday 18.02.2025.

Nearly 6,000 Group employees attended the event, during which the management officially presented the new corporate purpose.

At the same time, the event aimed to:

  • Showcase the culture defining the Group throughout the years.
  • Outline the Group’s vision for the future.
  • Highlight the qualities that make Alpha Bank stand out.

What happened at Alpha Bank's 1st Alpha Day

The event featured speeches by top executives, discussions, as well as employee awards.

Discussion with CEO Vassilis Psaltis

In the session on “Focusing on the vision”, the Alpha Bank Group CEO, Vassilis Psaltis, engaged in a conversation with journalist and writer Thodoris Georgakopoulos. During their discussion, Mr Psaltis referred to the:

  • Long process that led to drafting the new corporate purpose, which involved the participation of Alpha Bank people, as well as findings from a series of studies conducted.
  • Challenges Alpha Bank faced over the last few years due to the crisis, as well as its return to a culture of progress, guided by its values.
  • Evolution of Alpha Bank's brand to capture its new identity and leading position in the banking system.

He also took the opportunity to thank the people of the Group for their invaluable contribution throughout this journey.

Active employee participation

A key element of the event was the active participation of the Group employees. During the discussion sessions, employees openly talked about the challenges they face regarding:

  • Enhancing productivity
  • Improving the level of customer service

In the same context, top executives committed to:

  • Tackling everyday inefficiencies.
  • Implementing the Group's ambitious digital transformation programme that will allow Alpha Bank to provide top-quality services to customers through digital applications and products.

Specific initiatives for the future

During the event, the Chair of the Board of Directors, Dimitris Tsitsiragkos, as well as Alpha Bank top executives, including Lazaros Papagaryfallou, Fragkiski Melissa, Nikos Salakas, Yannis Emiris, Isidoros Passas, Stefanos Mytilinaios and Giorgos Michalopoulos, presented a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening:

  • Internal and interdepartmental collaboration
  • The sense of unity and contribution to society
  • The recognition of employee performance
  • The improvement of digital and technological solutions
  • The upgrade of physical infrastructures

They also underlined that these initiatives, combined with the new corporate purpose, will further enhance Alpha Bank's already strong corporate identity.
