Instructions on new accepted file formats in online payments

myAlpha Web subscribers using the current txt format files

If you are a subscriber to the service and you are sending a txt format, you may:

  • Create a new XML file format in accordance with the in accordance with the ISO 20022 international (for information on the new file format, click here).
  • Use the File Conversion Tool (Conversion Service) to convert your file in the new XML file format, in accordance with the ISO 20022 international standard, so as to be accepted by the service (click here - available as of 7.11.2015). The imported txt file format may contain either (a) the 15-digit Alpha Bank account numbers and the Remittance Info field with a smaller length of 140 characters or (b) the accounts in IBAN format and the Remittance Info field with maximum length of 140 characters.
  • Use the new myAlpha Web File Preparation Tool even if you have installed it in the past (to install the new tool, click here - available as of 18.1.2016) in order to import the old file format (using the menu option ”File Open“). The imported txt file format may contain either (a) the 15-digit Alpha Bank account numbers and the Remittance Info field with a smaller length of 140 characters or (b) the accounts in IBAN format and the Remittance Info field with maximum length of 140 characters. After the file is imported, its format will be converted to an XML file format in accordance with the the ISO 20022 international standard. Opening the new format, you may modify/expand each individual transaction contained in it with the desired information, and then produce a new file format by saving it for subsequent import to the myAlpha Web application.

Please note that the new information contained in the “Remittance Info“ field will be accessible by Customers / Payment recipients through:

  • myAlpha Web / myAlpha phone and through the “Transaction Details” option.
  • Any Branch of the Bank.

myAlpha Web subscribers using the existing “myAlpha Web File Preparation Tool“

If you are a subscriber to the service and you are using the “myAlpha Web File Preparation Tool” to create your files, you may proceed to the installation of the new tool (to install it, click here - available as of 18.1.2016), which allows you to create your XML file in accordance with the ISO 20022 international standard for each transaction you import. It is noted that even if you have installed the aforementioned tool in the past, you must install it again. The imported txt file format may contain either (a) the 15-digit Alpha Bank account numbers and the Remittance Info field with a smaller length of 140 characters or (b) the accounts in IBAN format and the Remittance Info field with maximum length of 140 characters.

If you have an old version of the file which was created by the tool, you can import it to the new tool for automatic conversion to the new XML file format in accordance with the ISO 20022 international standard (“File Open” option). By opening any new file format you may modify/enrich manually each individual transaction contained in it with the desired information, and then produce a new file format by saving it for subsequent import to the myAlpha Web application.

Former Alphaline Service Subscribers or former Customers using physical file transfer (on CD) wishing to create create an XML file format in accordance with the ISO 20022 standard.

If you are a former Alphaline Service Subscriber or a former Customer using physical file transfer (on CD), you can use the new “myAlpha Web File Preparation Tool” (to install it, click here - available as of 18.1.2016) to convert your files in the new XML file format in accordance with the ISO 20022 standard. It is noted that even if you have installed the aforementioned tool in the past, you must install it again. The imported txt file format may contain either (a) the 15-digit Alpha Bank account numbers and the Remittance Info field with a smaller length of 140 characters or (b) the accounts in IBAN format and the Remittance Info field with maximum length of 140 characters.
