Alpha Bank keeps up with the advances in technology and integrates modern Chip & PIN card technology for more secure and easy day-to-day transactions.

Chip & PIN technology cardholders do not have to sign the transaction slip in-store. They just have to enter the 4-digit card PIN at POS devices. When they enter the PIN the holder’s data are verified and the transaction goes through.

Our PIN is our signature! What you need to know:

You are the only person who needs to know your PIN. You should not print it and it should not appear anywhere. You do not have to sign the transaction slip any more. This way, you are more protected against theft or any other malicious action.
When you receive your upgraded card, you will get a new PIN for the main and the additional cards, if you have any. Memorise it, as you need it to carry out transactions with businesses
To activate your card, call Customer Service on +30 210 326 0000.
Never reveal your PIN to anyone over the phone, online or verbally.
If you forget your PIN, ask Customer Service to re-issue it.

With the new Chip & PIN technology your customers type in their PIN themselves at the POS device when they carry out a transaction, without having to sign the transaction slip.

This offers many benefits:

Business security: holder identification and signature authentication are no longer necessary.
Holder security: the holder is the only one who knows their PIN.
Easy and fast: staff no longer need to sign and proof check.
