e-Banking blocking

If you suspect that your credentials have been stolen or compromised, or have discovered suspicious activity on your e-Banking, you can block it temporarily. This way you protect your data right away and block access to your accounts and other products you hold at Alpha Bank.

What happens once you block your e-Banking

All e-Banking profiles in your name are deactivated

You will not have access to myAlpha Web, myAlpha Mobile or myAlpha Phone. If you have additional profiles as an individual with different credentials, these will also be blocked.

If you have e-Banking for business, it will not be affected.

Your scheduled transactions are cancelled

One-off bill payments and money transfers you have scheduled for a later date will not be carried out.

Your linked devices are deleted

You will need to link them again next time you log into myAlpha Mobile, after unblocking your e-Banking.

Your daily transfer limit is reset

If you had set a higher limit, your daily transfer limit through e-Banking decreases to the default limit of €1,000. It does not change if you had set a lower limit.

Once you regain access, you can change back the daily transfer limit.

Your cards and standing orders remain active

You will be able to use your cards as usual, if you haven’t already locked/blocked them temporarily.

The standing orders you have set up will remain active and you will not miss a payment or transfer deadline.

You are notified by email

We send you emails to notify you that:

  • Your e-Banking has been blocked.
  • A scheduled transaction has been cancelled (1 email per each cancelled money transfer or bill payment), provided you had scheduled such transactions.

How to block your e-Banking

In 6 steps

  1. Log into myAlpha Web with your credentials (username and password).
  2. Choose “Settings” from the menu on the left.
  3. Choose the “Security settings” tab.
  4. Scroll down to the end of the page and click on “Block e-Banking”.
