Strong customer authentication for businesses
For greater security in your transactions
Learn about strong customer authentication
Protection for your transactions
Strong customer authentication (two-factor authentication) is one of the methods we use to protect the transactions you carry out through business web banking. It is a 6-digit verification code that acts complementary to your business digital banking credentials, providing even greater security.
2nd approval if necessary
In some cases, e.g. when you increase your daily transfer limit or when we identify unusual activity on your business web banking, we may request a 2nd approval with a 6-digit verification code that you receive through Viber / text message or email.
Free of charge
You do not pay a fee for strong authentication through the 6-digit verification code. It is mandatory to activate strong authentication when you sign up to business digital banking, unless you are a simple user.
If you already have your business digital banking credentials but have not activated strong authentication, book an appointment at a branch near you.

Through Viber / text message
Before completing a transaction through business web banking, you receive a 6-digit verification code through Viber / text message on your mobile.
Enter the code on the respective business web banking field to approve the transaction.
You receive the 6-digit code through text message, if you:
- Haven’t installed Viber on your phone or computer.
- Have no Wi-Fi or data connection to receive the code on Viber.
- Have blocked Alpha Bank as an allowed contact on your Viber app.
Each 6-digit code is unique and can only be used exclusively for the specific transaction, since it is created based on the details of the transaction you’re carrying out.

Any questions?
Find the answers you need about strong customer authentication for businesses.
I am a freelancer / own a sole proprietorship. Do I need to activate strong customer authentication?
Yes. Strong customer authentication with a 6-digit verification code is necessary for all businesses that have digital banking. That includes sole proprietorships and freelancers.
If you don’t activate the service, you will only be able to carry out limited transactions online, e.g. transfers to your Alpha Bank business accounts.
Can I carry out transfers to other accounts through business web banking without strong customer authentication?
Yes, but only to Alpha Bank accounts, either your own business accounts or other ones, that you’ve already registered in your business digital banking.
To view your saved accounts, log into business web banking and from the menu on the right choose Profile > Profile management.
Is there a dedicated myAlpha Code device for strong transaction authentication?
Not any more. The use of a dedicated device for strong transaction authentication was discontinued in February 2025.
If you were using the device, find out what you need to do to start receiving 6-digit verification codes on your mobile.
