The largest financial hub in the centre of Athens

We are redeveloping the Alpha Bank Campus, a unified complex of 7 interconnected buildings that forms the largest integrated financial hub in the historic centre of Athens and one of the largest in the historic centres of European cities. The buildings are located between Stadiou, Panepistimiou, Korai and Pesmazoglou streets, within City Block 19.

Covering a total surface area of 50,000 sq. m and designed to accommodate 2,150 people, the Campus connects 150 years of banking history with the future of the economy and aligns with our purpose: To foster progress in life and entrepreneurship for a better tomorrow.

Where the city meets culture

The Campus will not simply consolidate operations within a single building complex, but aspires to serve as an open hub for culture, education and social participation, while at the same time showcasing Alpha Bank’s important cultural collections.

To this end, we strengthen our long-standing connection with the social and cultural life of the Greek capital, and create a reference point for the city’s historic centre, where economic activity goes hand in hand with culture.

40 Stadiou Street: The Campus landmark

The landmark of the Campus is the Alpha Bank central building on 40 Stadiou Street, designed by architects Nikolaos Nikolaidis (original building) and Nikos Valsamakis (marble building, in collaboration with Kostas Manouilidis). Nearly 40 years after its inauguration by former Alpha Bank Chairman Yannis Costopoulos, it is being renovated to meet contemporary needs and the highest quality, sustainability and workplace experience standards.

The renovated building will become the main meeting point for our customers, the place where partnership strategies will be shaped and decisions will be taken that will influence the next phase of the Greek economic development.

The building will receive LEED Gold and WELL Gold certification, ensuring energy efficiency and alignment with environmental responsibility.

A masterpiece of banking architecture

This iconic neoclassical work of banking architecture is known for its skylight and the famous clock in the back of the main hall. Its British architect is unknown, but the building was constructed in partnership with Anastasios Metaxas.

Construction began in 1912 and the building served as the headquarters of Ionian Bank, which was absorbed by Alpha Credit Bank in 2000. In 1983 the building was designated as listed.

An example of Athenian architecture

This imposing building was designed by architect Anastasios Metaxas. It follows the late neoclassical style and is a typical sample of Athenian architecture in the early 20th century.

The 4-storey building was completed in 1927. One of the most imposing urban mansions built during the interwar period, it served as the Popular Bank headquarters. In 1983 it was designated as listed.

The Alpha Bank glass building

It was designed by architect Zacharias Vondas in collaboration with Renos Koutsouris.

This contemporary 8-storey building features a curtain wall made of aluminium and glass, and developed on a clean flat frame. It is distinguished for its elegant and transparent architecture.

A sample of British modernism

A work by Sir Basil Spence and Emmanouil Vourekas, in collaboration with Max Frangoulis.

The building located on 36 Stadiou and 1 Korai Streets is a bold and pioneering sample of British modernism, and it marked the transition of Athenian architecture towards contemporary design.

With Beaux-Arts features

The Nikoloudis Mansion, named after the architect who designed it, is an iconic commercial landmark of Athens.

Showcasing typical Beaux-Arts architectural features, it remains a timeless point of reference for the urban life and commercial activity of the Greek capital.

A neoclassical building with strict symmetry

After acquiring this iconic building located on 38 Stadiou Street, following an agreement with Yoda Plc, we created the largest financial hub in the centre of Athens.

Designed by architect Ioannis Isigonis and formerly the Bank of Athens central branch, the building is an iconic example of neoclassical architecture and an integral part of the Greek economic history. It is distinguished by its strict symmetry and stands as a typical sample of banking architecture in the first decade of the 20th century.
