A historical arcade in the heart of Athens
The Nikoloudi Arcade is one of the most important projects by architect Alexandros Nikoloudis (1874-1944), a leading figure in Greek architecture over the first 4 decades of the 20th century. The building that connects Panepistimiou Street with Stadiou Street stands in the place of the old Nikoloudis family home.
Alexandros Nikoloudis was a versatile person, who managed to combine being an architect, state advisor and professor with a career in business and politics. Moreover, through his work as an architectand state advisor, he developed a close relationship with Eleftherios Venizelos.
