The Alpha Bank CEO message
Alpha Bank CEO Vassilis Psaltis highlighted Alpha Bank’s transformation over recent years. As he stated, having successfully restored profitability, strengthened its balance sheet, rebuilt capital generation, and returned to shareholder distributions, Alpha Bank is now ready to build on this foundation through a strategy focused on accelerating growth and underpinned by 2 complementary client engines:
- Universal Business Bank, moving Alpha Bank from lending alone to serving each business client’s full financial needs.
- Wealth and Personal Banking, accompanying households from everyday banking through savings, investments, insurance and retirement planning.
The CEO also underlined that the 2030 strategy is supported by positive expectations for the Greek economy, as well as the Group’s strategic partnership with UniCredit and continuous investments in technology, AI and talent development.
Looking ahead, our focus is clear: generating higher-quality earnings, allocating capital with discipline, increasing shareholder distributions and creating sustainable value for all stakeholders.Alpha Bank Group CEO
The Alpha Bank Deputy CEO message
Alpha Bank Deputy CEO Lazaros Papagaryfallou presented the capital allocation framework designed to support the 2030 strategy and deliver sustainable value to shareholders. He also specified the 4 commitments defining “Alpha Accelerated”:
- Allocating capital to high-return growth areas
- Improving profitability
- Doubling organic capital generation compared to the previous cycle
- Increasing shareholder distributions
This way, he stated, by 2030, Alpha Bank expects to generate €6.9 billion of capital, while maintaining more than half of its capital capacity and funding its business plan entirely through internal resources.
The Alpha Bank CFO message
Alpha Bank CFO Vasilis Kosmas outlined the financial roadmap underpinning the Group’s new strategic plan and specified the key targets for 2030:
- Achieving around 16% return on tangible equity (RoTE)
- Delivering sustainable annual growth of around 12%
- Taking normalized earnings per share to around €0.63
- Having €4 billion available for shareholder distributions
The CFO explained that the plan is built on prudent macroeconomic assumptions. He also highlighted that future profitability will be driven not only by balance-sheet growth but increasingly by revenue diversification, scalability and productivity, and resilient risk-adjusted earnings.
