Our people

We invest in the professional development of our people, offering various educational programmes, to help them continuously expand their knowledge and acquire new skills. 

Person-hours of training in 2024: 

• 87,129 for men. 
• 120,578  for women. 

In total 5,647 of our employees participated in educational programmes in 2024.

We recognise the importance and contribution of our people, offering a series of benefits, covers and services to them and their family members.  

In 2024: 

• 1,607 employees received a monthly childcare allowance.
• 9,926 days of maternity leave were granted to working mothers.
• 827 days of parental leave were granted to working fathers.

We offered the children of our employees 1,907 gift cards at the start of the school year. Moreover, we organised summer camps and Christmas events for them. 

As of 2023, we've been implementing an ISO45001 certified occupational health and safety management system, with the aim of offering our people a safe and healthy work environment. To this end, in 2024 we enhanced the health and wellbeing of our employees through:

• An informational campaign on the benefits of quitting smoking, aiming at promoting a healthier lifestyle.
• An awareness-raising and anti-stigma campaign on mental health issues, aiming at promoting new and existing mental health-related benefits.
• Training of 240 employees / emergency response team leaders.
  

We also broadened our employees’ knowledge and understanding of safety matters through: 

• 105 training sessions and emergency drills at buildings and branches.

• Asynchronous courses on health and safety.
  

At the same time, we successfully addressed 457 observations by our safety engineers and inspected 10 of our suppliers.

We recorded and handled 5 work-related injuries, as well as 4 commuting incidents.

Furthermore, we established an employee health and safety committee, tasked with resolving any occupational health and safety issues in cooperation with Management representatives.

In addition, through the Occupational Health and Safety Policy, we are committed to fostering a safe work environment for our people, as well as all stakeholders.

To ensure our people have equal opportunities for development, we establish neutral and transparent evaluation procedures, and provide suitable opportunities for growth. 

We treat our people with respect, without any discrimination on the grounds of age, gender, race, family status, physical or mobility impairments or other traits. We have developed a new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy, turning into action initiatives along 5 strategic pillars:  

• Gender diversity

• LGBTQ+ inclusion

We encourage our people to participate in our annual volunteering initiatives, in keeping up with the spirit of modern entrepreneurship and the need of having corporate companies contribute to social development and growth. Therefore, every year we: 

• Organise blood drives every March and October to replenish the Alpha Bank blood bank. 
• Honour the Alpha Bank Group Volunteer Day since 2019, playing our part to further raise awareness among our people on social and environmental issues in Greece and abroad. 
• Secure the participation of the Alpha Bank Team in the Athens Classic Marathon.
