ISO 50001:2018 – Energy Management System
In 2023 we started developing our Energy Management System according to the ISO 50001:2018 requirements, while the certification process for Alpha Bank was completed in 2024.
We continuously monitor and reassess our energy usage, aiming to reduce consumption and improve the overall efficiency of our systems.

Since 2019 we have been applying an environmental management system according to ISO 14001, aiming to systematically monitor and improve our environmental performance. Striving towards sound environmental management, we carry out recycling programmes for different streams, such as paper, plastics, batteries, light bulbs, toner and ink ribbons. In addition, we monitor the use of natural resources, and undertake initiatives to reduce energy and water consumption.

ISO 14064 – System for the Verification and Validation of Greenhouse Gas Statements
We monitor Green House Gas (GHG) emissions, aiming to reduce them and align with the Paris Agreement. In 2021 we were the 1st bank in Greece to to be validated by a certification body for our GHG emission based on ISO 14064. This validation offers a systematic method of monitoring the impact of our operation and supports a low-carbon economy.
EMAS – European Eco Management and Audit Scheme
Since 2021 we have been drafting and submitting to the Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy an annual voluntary statement based on the EMAS guidelines for all our central operations and bank branches. Alpha Bank was most recently registered in the European eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS) on 05.11.2024 by decision of the ministry.
Society and social responsibility
ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational health and safety management systems
We have developed and are implementing a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety System for the entire scope of our activities. In 2022 the System was certified to ISO 45001, the international standard on Occupational Health and Safety, by an accredited certification body.
Group company Alpha Supporting Services holds a similar certification.

ISO 22316 – Security and resilience / Organisational resilience
In 2022 we became the 1st bank in Greece to be certified to ISO 22316 by a certification body for our organisational resilience.
This certification reaffirms our dedication to best practices and ground-breaking methodologies that ensure:
- Successfully aligning with and being resilient to the ever-changing business environment.
- Smoothly meeting the targets in our daily operations.
ISO 20000-1 – Information technology / Service management
Since 2019 we have been applying an integrated IT Management System certified to ISO 20000-1. The System covers all relevant services offered by all Alpha Bank business units and branches.
Alpha Supporting Services also holds this certification.
ISO 27001 – Information security management systems
We ensure the highest level of information security and have been certified to the ISO 27001 standard.
In 2022 we extended the scope of the certification to incorporate:
- ISO 27701 – Security techniques / Privacy information management.
- ISO 27017– Code of practice for information security controls for cloud services.
- ISO 27018 – Code of practice for protection of personally identifiable information (PII) in public clouds.
Alpha Supporting Services, a Group company, also holds the ISO 27001 certification.
ISO 9001 – Quality management systems
We apply an integrated Quality Management System, certified to ISO 9001, for our critical operations, aiming to continuously improve the services we offer our clients.

Since 2008 our Group has been applying a Business Continuity Management System, which ensures its continuous operation to the highest extent possible.
