The Museum in regional Greece

In May 2024 we supported “The Museum in regional Greece” programme that travelled to the Corfu Retirement Home – Poorhouse.

The audience attended the presentation of the B&E Goulandris Foundation Art Collection through a very different and unique virtual tour, accompanied by the museum heads and assisted by technology.

Using VR headsets and tablets, the elderly had the chance to walk around the B&E Goulandris Foundation Museum and admire the works from up close. The experience of the virtual tour sparked their memory and senses.

The programme was carried out using the thallo – Aging with a smile method that aims at:

  • Fostering active participation and entertaining the audience.
  • Encouraging relationships of trust and enhancing extroversion.

Turning our values into action

We actively participate together with museums and other cultural foundations in the dialogue on active ageing and the quality of life for older people. Our initiatives in partnership with the B&E Goulandris Foundation promote team spirit, socialisation and self-confidence. At the same time, they offer a safe way for seniors to express themselves and become more extrovert, ultimately raising their spirits, which is something all of us need.

At the same time, digital activities for people aged 60+ open up new avenues for people from all over the world, while enhancing creativity and encouraging the use of digital tools.
