The museum kits in numbers
The Numismatic Collection in museum kits
In 2025, we introduced the new and improved “A journey through the world of money” museum kit, which started travelling free of charge to schools in Greece and abroad.
Through its fascinating and interactive content, students discover the history of currency and become familiar with the concepts of money and transactions. The new educational programme from the Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection aims at promoting financial literacy among young people and shaping responsible future citizens.
By the 1st quarter of 2025, the museum kit had already visited 42 schools in Greece, reaching 2,615 students.
The first 2 museum kits – “Nomos-Nomizo-Nomisma” and “Currency and Transactions. From Yesterday to Nowadays” – have finished their cycle and were withdrawn in January 2025. Within 2024 they had visited 4,542 students in:
- 69 schools in Greece
- 6 Greek schools abroad

Through banknotes, students and teachers learn about the history surrounding the establishment of the Greek state and the 5 banks that had currency-issuing privileges in Greece.
In 2024 the programme “Banknotes – the Greek Banknote” was attended by:
- 35 schools
- 1,407 students
