Alpha Bank named “CSR Corporate Brand of the Year” at the Hellenic Responsible Business Awards 2022
Alpha Bank was presented with several awards at the recent Hellenic Responsible Business Awards 2022, in recognition of its responsible business activity and its initiatives to promote sustainable environmental and social development. The Bank garnered 6 awards in total and was also named “CSR Corporate Brand of the Year”, winning the top distinction of the Hellenic Responsible Business Awards institution. The Awards are held under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and Investments, the Ministry of Environment and Energy, and the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV). The title of “CSR Corporate Brand of the Year” was also accompanied by the awarding of distinctions for its programs and initiatives in the areas of Responsible Banking, Equitable Access, Digital Innovation and Female Empowerment.
In particular, Alpha Bank received:
- 2 Gold awards in the categories “Responsible Product / Affinity Marketing / Cause-Related Marketing” and “Sustainable Cities & Communities”, for the Consumer Loan "Alpha Green Solutions - Electric car/bicycle”, which was specifically created to meet the needs of the Greek Government’s program “e-Astypalea”.
- A Silver Award in the category “Strengthening Entrepreneurship”, for the annual international innovation competition “FinQuest by Alpha Bank”, which is addressed to the domestic and international ecosystem of start-ups, in search of innovative digital solutions and applications that could transform the financial industry.
- A Silver award in the category “ESG & SDGs: Life on Land”, for the investment program “Investments with Environmental Impact”.
- A Silver award in the category “Gender Equality”, for the series of initiatives “Female Empowerment: We support Women in practice”.
- A Bronze award in the category “Less Inequalities”, for the Social Responsibility program “All together at the opera”, implemented by Alpha Bank in collaboration with the Greek National Opera (GNO) since December 2021, making available – for the first time – opera performances that are universally accessible by all our fellow citizens.
Alpha Bank and KPMG won a Silver Award at the Supply Chain Awards 2022
The distinction concerns the design and implementation of a new organizational model in the Bank's Procurement Division. Alpha Bank and KPMG received the Silver Award in the "Best Practices in Procurement" category, for the new organizational model they designed and implemented in the Bank's Central Procurement and Outsourcing Management Department.
Two Corporate Responsibility distinctions at the “Bravo Sustainability Awards 2022”
Alpha Bank garnered two major distinctions at the “Bravo Sustainability Awards 2022” event held during the “Bravo Sustainability Week 2022”, organized by QualityNet Foundation. The two initiatives of the Bank that were awarded are the “Together, for the Environment” Program, under the “Environment: Response to natural disasters” category, and the Program “The defacements that hurt”, under the “Society: Partnership between a private sector and a public sector entity” category. Alpha Bank’s programs were singled out among 310 candidate Corporate Social Responsibility actions and were voted by the scientific committees of the Bravo Sustainability Awards, as well as by more than 16,000 citizens.
Alpha Bank’s Project Galaxy named “Transaction of the Year” at the Structured Credit Investor (SCI) NPL Securitization Awards
Alpha Bank's Project Galaxy securitization was named “Transaction of the Year” at the “NPL Securitization Awards” organized by Structured Credit Investor (SCI). Completed in the second quarter of 2021, Project Galaxy was the second largest Non-Performing Exposures (NPE) securitization in Europe and the largest securitization ever to be concluded in Greece.
In judging for the award, SCI’s analysts noted that the Galaxy securitization was a landmark transaction for the Greek banking sector in general, while for Alpha Bank, the completion of the transaction was a key milestone in the implementation of its Transformation Plan, and it also made a significant contribution to the clean-up of the Bank’s balance sheet.
Alpha Bank’s Project Aurora transaction awarded “Best securitisation in SEE” in 2021 by leading international financial publication EMEA Finance
Alpha Bank has been awarded “Best securitisation in SEE” in 2021 by EMEA Finance for its landmark Euro 1.9 billion Project Aurora transaction. Project Aurora, which was recognised as the most innovative and impactful deal of its kind in Southeast Europe last year. Project Aurora, the first synthetic securitisation of performing SME and corporate loans delivered by Alpha Bank, was successful in the “Securitisation and Structured Finance category” of EMEA Finance’s respected “Achievement Awards 2021”. Their widely recognised annual “Achievement Awards” celebrate excellence across the EMEA capital markets, highlighting the most successful deals and dealmakers. Alpha Bank was selected for the award by EMEA Finance’s distinguished editorial team as the Project Aurora transaction was judged to have best exemplified the innovative work taking place in the capital markets of the SEE region.
Circular Economy Awards 2022
Our Bank was honored with a gold award in the Waste Reduction category of the Circular Economy Awards 2022, for the Corporate Social Responsibility Program "Waste Reduction". This distinction recognizes our effort to reduce our environmental footprint by applying the principles of the circular economy by reusing office, technological and electronic equipment.
In addition, by donating equipment in excellent condition, which has reached the end of its life cycle for the Bank, we create the conditions for the provision of equal opportunities in education, work and entertainment to institutions, local communities and vulnerable social groups (special schools, associations for the disabled, etc.).
The "Waste Reduction" Program has been implemented continuously since 2010, in collaboration with the Property and Security Division. In 2021, we responded to 96 agencies, satisfying their requests for office equipment with 591 items and for technological equipment with 936 items. The direct beneficiaries of the program for 2021 amount to 4,960 and the indirect ones to 6,829, while from these donations a total emission of 38.9 tons of CO2e were avoided, 9 tons more than the previous year.

Double distinction for Alpha Bank at the HRIMA Business Awards 2021
At the 19th Awards Ceremony held on February 11, 2022 ALPHA BANK won the 1st business award in the category "Corporate Social Responsibility" as well as the 2nd business award in the category "Best Bank".
“HRIMA Business Awards” are well-established in the business and investment market as an event for the annual evaluation of companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange.
The companies’ assessment criteria are their growth rate, investments, innovative actions, global orientation, positive results of their market strategies and their conduct in the stock market and towards investors.
In the evaluation participated the retail investors, the readership of HRIMA magazine and the weekly online newspaper HRIMA Week. A total of more than 10,000 people, in order to ensure the participation of the public and market experts (professionals of the wider financial sector, executives of companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, business consultants etc.)

Alpha Bank has been named “Best Bank in Greece” for 2021 for a second consecutive year, at the “Awards for Excellence 2021” by the international financial publication “Euromoney”. This year’s distinction is based on the successful completion of the landmark transaction “Galaxy” as well as on the Bank’s strategic progress and solid financial resilience throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
The award is presented annually to banks whose dynamic profile in the international and regional markets sets them apart from the competition and are chosen following an in-depth analysis of their qualitative and quantitative figures. This is the 4th time during the last six years that Alpha Bank receives the top distinction as the “Best Bank in Greece” by Euromoney, given that this year’s award follows previous relevant distinctions in 2016, 2018 and 2020.
Double Corporate Responsibility distinction at the “Hellenic Responsible Business Awards 2021”
Focusing on its contribution to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and, in particular, to SDG10 (Reduced Inequalities), Alpha Bank helps broaden the current offerings regarding the access and equal participation of persons with disabilities in recreational and cultural events.
In this context, it sponsors the installation of suitable accessibility facilities in cinemas for people with disabilities, as well as the availability of audio description for the visually impaired and of special SDH subtitles for the deaf or hard of hearing, simultaneous interpretation into the Greek sign language, etc.
Indicatively, through the "Cinema for All" program, more than 10,000 of our fellow citizens have so far had the opportunity to enjoy the cinema experience, in an effort to eliminate the exclusion that they experience in their everyday life due to the lack of appropriate infrastructure and accessible content.

Alpha Bank's innovative Digital Business Onboarding service was awarded a Gold Award at the E-volution Awards 2021, in the category "User Interface".

Alpha Bank named Shipping Financier of the Year at Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards 2020
Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards 2020 ended with a significant distinction for Alpha Bank, which was named Shipping Financier of the Year.
The award is a major success for Alpha Bank, highlighting the Bank’s commitment to deliver quality services to its shipping Customers, even under the challenging circumstances caused by the pandemic. In particular, the award concerns the new funding that exceeded USD 850 million, provided in order to support existing and new Customers proceed with investments related to the purchase or construction of ships. This resulted in the increase of the portfolio balance to USD 2.9 billion. At the same time, the Bank maintained the high quality in terms of its shipping banking services, by the Shipping Division and Branch, in order to support the activities of its shipping companies and private Customers. The Bank continues to actively support its shipping Customers and meet their needs in the best possible way.
Alpha Bank’s Investor and Analyst Relations Division won the first place, for yet another year, in the “Best IR Team Overall – Sell-Side Only- EMEA Financials” category of the “Executive Teams Research”. Conducted by the credible international business site www.institutionalinvestor.com, the survey highlights the top professionals in the international institutional investor sector.
Moreover, Alpha Bank won third place in the “Best IR Team Overall” category, while it was the only Greek bank to rank first in one of the categories that are part of this prestigious international survey, which features the participation of thousands of capital managers and analysts from around the world.

Alpha Bank named “Best Bank in Greece” for 2020 by the international financial publication “Euromoney”
Alpha Bank has been named “Best Bank in Greece” for 2020, at the “Awards for Excellence 2020” by the international financial publication “Euromoney” due to its adaptability, robust capital position and commitment to social responsibility throughout the recent COVID-19 crisis.
According to the selection committee, Alpha Bank was recognized for maintaining prudent capital management with the ambitious launch of one of the largest NPE securitizations in the European market this year, which aims to almost halve both the group's NPE and NPL ratios.
Alpha Bank has also proven its resilience and ability to adjust to a changing world through its digitalization transformation strategy. This has already brought significant progress in the bank's retail and business on-boarding. Finally, Alpha Bank is proud to have offered a range of measures to support its Customers through the economic uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic. This has included – on top of state supported loan programs - a financing of Euro 2.3 billion to Businesses, year to date, as well as a variety of loan extensions and payment deferrals to our Customers.

Alpha Bank gained distinctions, for the fifth consecutive year in the Extel Survey, the long-standing independent study aiming to highlight the best professionals across the European Equities Investment industry, on a yearly basis.

Alpha Bank was named “Best Bank in Greece” for 2018, at the “Awards for Excellence 2018”, held by the international financial publication “Euromoney”, at a special event in London, on July 11, 2018.
The award is presented annually to banks whose dynamic profile in the international and regional markets in which they operate sets them apart from the competition and are chosen following an in-depth analysis of their qualitative and quantitative figures. According to the selection committee, Alpha Bank was distinguished for its superior performance in 2018 ECB’s Stress Tests among Greek systemic Banks, as well as its solid operational profitability, the highest in the sector for another consecutive year.
Major distinctions for Alpha Bank Group on “Extel Survey 2018”
Alpha Bank gained significant distinctions in the annual international survey conducted by Extel, aiming to highlight the best professionals at a Pan-European level.
More specifically, Alpha Bank's Managing Director – CEO, Mr. Demetrios P. Mantzounis was voted 2nd Best CEO in Greece and 19th in Europe, out of a total of 97 CEOs of European Banks.
Alpha Bank's General Manager – Chief Financial Officer, Mr Vassilios E. Psaltis was voted Best CFO in Greece and 7th in Europe, out of a total of 92 CFOs across European Banks.
The Bank's Investor Relations professionals, Mr Dimitrios Kostopoulos, Head of Investor Relations and Mrs Elena Katopodi, Deputy Manager of Investor Relations, reached the top 2 positions amongst all Greek corporates as IR Professionals in Greece, occupying positions within the top 10 IR professionals for Banks on a Pan-European level, out of a total of 328.
More than 11,300 investment professionals participated in the Extel Survey 2018, from a total of 2,923 buy-side and sell-side firms and 1,531 listed companies, covering a broad spectrum of industries, such as banking, pharmaceuticals, automobile, oil industry, telecommunications, transportation, utilities and others.
The results above are indicative of Alpha Bank's strong recognition among the investment community, with foreign institutional investors comprising 81% of our total shareholder's base.

In the framework of Extel's annual survey of leading professionals in the financial services sector in Europe, Alpha Bank and the Investor and Analyst Relations Division ranked respectively:
- 1st in Greece (Corporate Best for Investor Relations - Greece), for the fourth consecutive year, out of 30 companies
- 9th (Corporate Best for Investor Relations - Banks) among 139 European banks
- 38th among the 100 leading companies in Europe (Top 100 Corporates Best for Investor Relations - Pan Europe).
