How we protect your company

The safety of your company’s transactions is our priority. This is why we always seek and apply cutting-edge methods to protect your transactions and data. Using state-of-the-art systems, additional access security levels and regular updates, we try to make your transactions as secure as possible.

Controlled access and data encryption

We use dedicated security systems to monitor and record every attempt to access our systems. This is how we prevent any unauthorised access or action.

At the same time, we use special, automated systems to encrypt all the data exchanged during every transaction (TLS method). This is how we protect your privacy and secure your data. 

 
Passwords 

To log into myAlpha Web for Business, you enter the e-Banking credentials (Username and Password) that only you know. You can also enter an alias Username, i.e. an alternative Username that you have created.

For more secure transactions, we ask you to change your Password every 6 months. However, we recommend that you change it even more often than that. Your business e-Banking locks automatically after 5 consecutive failed login attempts.

Strong myAlpha Code authentication for your online transactions

With myAlpha Code you gain increased transaction security through myAlpha Web for Business. In combination with the e-Banking credentials, you get stronger authentication and added protection.

When you have activated myAlpha Code, to complete a transaction you must fill in the 6-digit code that you receive:

  • Through SMS if you have a Greek mobile.
  • Through Viber if you don’t have a Greek mobile.

This code is unique and is created each time based on the details of the transaction you are carrying out. It is used exclusively for this transaction.

Additional mechanism to confirm online transactions

To  further boost your protection against the threat of online fraud, we implement an additional warning mechanism, which requires a 2nd confirmation via myAlpha Code, received through Viber or SMS before your transaction can be completed.

This mechanism is activated for certain transactions, such as when you increase your daily transfer limit or when we detect unusual activity on myAlpha Web for Business.

Automatic logout

For security reasons you have 60 minutes to complete your transactions through myAlpha Web for Business. After that, you are automatically logged out.

Moreover, since forgetting to log out is always a possibility, but it can pose a risk, you are automatically logged out if you do not carry out any transactions for 15 minutes.

Transaction and activity notifications

To get the best possible protection level, you can opt to receive, at no cost, Alpha alerts through email and/or SMS for transactions and/or other actions you carry out using our online services. In addition, you can monitor the activity on your cards and accounts.
