Introducing additional measures to keep you secure

As of September 2023 we activated new authentication mechanisms for selected transactions you carry out through your e-Banking or when you shop online with your cards.

The latest mechanisms are on top of the mechanisms already in place for strong customer authentication when carrying out transactions through e-Banking or transactions with cards, in line with the EU 2nd Payment Services Directive (PSD2).

We regularly adopt new measures and follow all the required protocols to protect your transactions. Make sure you closely follow our tips so you may enjoy secure online transactions.

For transactions through your e-Banking

We may request additional authentication for transactions you carry out through myAlpha Web and myAlpha Mobile.

Fill in the additional 6-digit confirmation code we send you through SMS or email.

For e-commerce transactions

When you carry out transactions at e-shops with your card (e-commerce), we may request additional authentication in 1 of 2 ways:

  • Phone confirmation.
  • 2 of the 4 digits of your card PIN.

Do not share your confidential information

We will never ask you to reveal your confidential information, such as your:

  • Entire 4-digit card PIN
  • Credentials (username and password) for e-Banking or any other of our online services

Do not follow unfamiliar links

Make sure you do not follow unsolicited links and do not fill in your credentials on those websites, even if you have been asked to do so.
