What are my options for meeting the needs of my customers?
Chose Alpha e-Commerce in order to maximise your flexibility in terms of the payment services available to your customers, by choosing between four different options:
• For online payments
The customer is immediately redirected to the Alpha e-Commerce secure payment page and, after completing his/her payment, is redirected back to your company’s website (Re-direct Connection).
The customer completes the payment remaining the whole time on your company’s website, provided the international security specifications are met (XML-Direct Connection).
• For payments by phone or written card charge authorisation (Virtual Terminal):
Via the custom configured page of the Alpha e-Commerce BackOffice Tool.
Directly via your company’s business system (ERP, CRM, Call Center etc.), after this system is first connected to the Alpha e-Commerce service.

When you use the service, you have access at all times to the following:
- Consulting services provided by a team of specialised staff for configuring payments via your company’s website. - Continuous support by a specialised Call Center. - A detailed User Manual (In Greek and in English) for the Alpha e-Commerce BackOffice Tool.
Is Alpha e-Commerce secure?
Absolutely! Alpha Bank offers the Alpha e-Commerce service in accordance with the most up-to-date international security standards (American Express SafeKey®, Verified by Visa, MasterCard Secure Code, e-mail alerts).
The high security level of the Alpha e-Commerce service is ensured by the following:
Card data (card number, CVV2/CVC2, expiration date etc.) are transmitted/ transferred over the Internet in an encrypted format (using SSL 128-bit encryption) and are not accessible by your e-shop.
All systems and procedures used by Alpha Bank block unauthorised third parties from accessing the Bank’s data and information systems.
Alpha Bank’s payment page, in which the merchant’s customers enter their card details, bears a digital certificate to allow anybody to check its authenticity, i.e. to make sure that it is a genuine web page of the Alpha e-Commerce service of Alpha Bank.
Administration and management of the Alpha e-Commerce service are carried out by authorised persons of your company, who are issued with personal access codes (username and password).
If the issuing bank supports the use of a password for the execution of online card payments and the cardholder has registered for this service and has received such a code, the Alpha e-Commerce service asks automatically the cardholder (your customer) to type his/her password.
The Alpha e-Commerce service follows the international best practices for e-commerce payments and is also fully compatible with the 3D-Secure security protocols American Express SafeKey®, Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode of the corresponding international card organisations, for secure online card payments. With this mechanism, after entering his/her card details, the customer will be asked to enter his/her 3D-Secure code in order for the cardholder verification process to take place. Verification is carried out by the issuing bank, after which the customer is redirected back to the transaction page, in order for the transaction to be completed.
What are the costs involved?
The Alpha e-Commerce service is offered to merchants free of initial connection costs and periodic charges.
You are only charged with a fee per transaction, which will be agreed with the Branch you do business with, when your company joins the service.
How do I sign up for Alpha e-Commerce?
All it takes is a visit to the Alpha Bank Branch you do business with, in order to sign the relevant contract and configure your company’s profile so that it meets your needs. During this step, you can choose:
The connection method with the service (Online or Virtual Terminal).
The provision of interest-free instalments to your customers.
To have the future instalments due from your customers discounted at an interest rate to be agreed with the Bank and sign the appropriate documents.
