About the details you can update

How can I update my personal details?

You can update your personal details online through myAlpha Web or myAlpha Mobile:

  1. Log in using your credentials.
  2. Choose to update your documents online from the menu.
  3. Select the details you want to update, along with the document type you will be uploading.
  4. Submit your document online.

If you do not have e-Banking credentials, you can use an Alpha Bank card.

  1. On the Documents Update page, scroll down to the Online document update section.
  2. Fill in your Alpha Bank card details.
  3. Select the details you want to update, along with the document type you will be uploading.
  4. Submit your document online.

You can also update your personal details online through eGov-KYC.

Can I change my contact details (address, phone number, email) through e-Banking?

Yes, you can easily change your mobile number and email address:

  • From your computer through myAlpha Web: Settings > Personal info. Click on the pencil icon next to the details you want to change.
  • From your mobile phone through myAlpha Mobile: Profile > Personal info. Tap on the icon on the right of the details you want to change.

Especially for the mobile number, you need to have access to your old number, as you will receive a 6-digit confirmation code first on your old number and then on the new. The change will go through in 2 business days.

If you do not have access to your old number, book an appointment at a branch through e-Banking.

To change your home address and your home or work landline numbers, you need to upload the relevant supporting documents or update these details through eGov-KYC

  • E3 form
  • Professional ID
  • Copy of payslip
  • Certificate from employer
  • Certificate issued by a consulate/embassy or foreign bank reference letter, for residents abroad

Home address

  • Income tax clearance certificate
  • Tax number insurance certificate
  • Electricity, water or phone bill
  • Online tenancy agreement
  • Document issued by a public authority
  • Certificate issued by a consulate/embassy or foreign bank reference letter, for residents abroad

Work address

  • E3 form
  • Professional ID
  • Copy of payslip
  • Certificate from employer
  • Certificate issued by a consulate/embassy or foreign bank reference letter, for residents abroad

Contact phone number

  • Phone bill
  • Certificate from employer
  • Certificate issued by a consulate/embassy or foreign bank reference letter, for residents abroad

If a document can be used to confirm more than 1 category of details, you can provide the same document to update all the details mentioned in it. The entire update process can be carried out online, so you do not need to visit a branch.

Can my home address be an address abroad?

Yes, as long as you are a resident abroad and can provide a supporting document certifying your home address:

  • Certificate issued by a consulate or embassy.
  • Foreign bank reference letter/Swift.
  • Residence permit. 

Why does the bank require my personal details?

These details are necessary for your transactions.

The bank may not authorise any transactions unless your identity has been confirmed and verified. In addition, we are obliged to request your information and keep it on record, including legal documents, your income tax clearance certificate and/or income tax return etc.

These obligations arise from applicable law, as well as from a regulatory framework that ensures the integrity of the banking system, protecting your transactions and your best interests.

How can I use eGov-KYC to update my personal details?

From your computer through myAlpha Web:

  1. In the Profile section, click on “Connect with eGov-KYC”.
  2. Fill in your TAXISnet credentials.
  3. Enter the OTC (one-time passcode) you receive on your mobile.
  4. Navigate to the categories and data that may be transferred to the bank.
  5. Consent to your data being transferred to the bank.
  6. Make sure your details are accurate and provide your consent.

From your mobile through myAlpha Mobile:

  1. On the main menu, tap on User info update > Continue > Update via eGov-KYC.
  2. Fill in your TAXISnet credentials.
  3. Enter the OTC (one-time passcode) you receive on your mobile.
  4. Navigate to the categories and data that may be transferred to the bank.
  5. Consent to your data being transferred to the bank.
  6. Make sure your details are accurate and provide your consent.
  7. On myAlpha Mobile, tap on “Update” or “Omit”.
  8. Complete the process using your PIN, fingerprint or Face ID.
 

My personal details were not updated through eGov-KYC or were updated incorrectly. What should I do?

If the recovery of your personal details was not successful or the details are incorrect, you should:

Can I update somebody else’s personal details online?

No. You can only update your own personal details using your own e-Banking and TAXISnet credentials.

About uploading documents

What formats can I use to upload my documents? How recent must the documents be?

The bank will accept documents that are:

  • Fully legible and of good quality.
  • In PDF, .jpeg, .tif, .tiff, .bmp or .gif format.
  • Up to 5MB. 
  • Bills issued within the past 6 months.
  • Income tax clearance certificates issued within the past year.

If a document is not accepted, can I try again?

Yes. The reason for rejecting the document will be mentioned in the SMS and email you receive upon uploading the document. Before trying again, please make sure that the document meets the relevant requirements.
