MyAlpha Code notifications are sent when making electronic transactions with Alpha Bank cards (credit, debit or prepaid) in e-shops with the “Visa Secure”, “Mastercard® Identity CheckTM” and/or “Diners Protect Buy” signs. This process ensures that only the legitimate cardholder can complete the electronic transaction.
The process is simple and starts after entering on the e-shop’s site the details of the card to be used for payment of the selected goods/services.
Confirmation of the transaction will then be requested. This can be given in one of the following ways:
- Confirmation via Push Notifications in myAlpha Mobile.
If you have activated the option of confirming your transactions via Push Notifications, you will receive from myAlpha Mobile a Push Notification with the information of the transaction (e-shop details, date and transaction amount), in order to proceed with its confirmation. You sign in to myAlpha Mobile and use your 4-digit PIN or the biometric features (Fingerprint or FaceID) that you set when you activated Push Notifications. - With the combined use of myAlpha Code and the 3-digit e-com PIN.
If you have not activated Push Notifications or if at the time of the transaction you cannot be authenticated using the Push Notifications method, your authentication can take place using an additional element – the e-com PIN.
We recommend that you should be very careful and that you avoid proceeding with any transaction or purchase by following a link contained in any advertising or informative emails sent to you.
