Alpha Bank brings you the Market Pass

Make the most of the financial aid offered by the Greek government to tackle the increase in household expenses, caused by the sharp rise in the consumer price index, through Alpha Bank. To get the aid you have the following options:

  • A virtual Market Pass Visa card, where the aid amount is paid every month.
  • A bank account with Alpha Bank, where the aid amount is paid every 3 months.

The aid amount equals 10% of the cost of your purchases, up to a maximum of €220 per month, for single-person households. For larger households, the amount increases by €100 for each household member, up to a maximum of €1,000. Find out if you are eligible for the aid.

The programme will run for 6 months, from February 2023 until July 2023.

You’re all set!

You will receive detailed instructions from us at the contact details you entered when you filled in your application at gov.gr.

If you choose the virtual Market Pass Visa card

The aid amount is credited to your card every month.

You can use this amount to buy any type of product at retail food stores or farmers’ markets.

If you choose a bank deposit

The aid amount is credited to your account every 3 months. However, this amount is only 80% of the amount you would have received if you had chosen the virtual digital card. The first instalment is credited to your account a few days after the date you submit your application.

You can use this amount without any restrictions.

Do I have to bank or start banking with Alpha Bank to get my Market Pass?

No, you don’t have to bank with us, nor will you start banking with us because you have submitted your application.

When you apply, you choose whether you want to receive the aid:

  • Through a virtual card, where the aid amount is paid every month. In this case you get 100% of the aid you are entitled to in 6 instalments.
  • Through a bank account you hold with Alpha Bank, where the aid amount is paid every 3 months. In this case you get 80% of the aid you are entitled to in 2 instalments.

I have received a virtual card from a previous programme (such as a Fuel Pass Visa / Tourism-For-All Pass). Can the Market Pass aid be paid to a card I already have?

No. The new Market Pass programme works independently from any other previous programme. Therefore, the aid amount will be paid to a new card, which will be issued after you apply at vouchers.gov.gr.
