Sponsorship

On February 8, 2001, Alpha Bank was proclaimed Grand National Sponsor of the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games, with the aim to contribute in the significant work of promoting our country’s culture. The Bank supported both the Organising Committee and all businesses or individuals who participated in the successful preparation and hosting of the Games. The largest sponsorship of the Athens Olympic Games, created pioneering programmes and services.

The Sponsorship’s efficient structure and, above all, the enthusiastic support of the Personnel of Alpha Bank, were the key factors that contributed to its success. 

Sponsorship activities 

During the Olympic Games, the Bank participated in the Hospitality Programme, hosting 3,700 Clients and Partners from around the world with the aim of offering them a unique and unforgettable Olympic experience and a first-class hospitality atmosphere.

The Alpha Bank Panorama of Olympic Sports was also organised, in 5,000 sq.m.area  within the Water Plaza at the Phaliron Delta, hosting a presentation of the Olympic Sports in real conditions, from August 13 to August 29, 2004. Visitors had the opportunity to see and participate in 11 Olympic Sports, such as Baseball, Softball, Trampoline, Badminton, Shooting, Archery, Cycling, Weight lifting, High jump, Fencing and Taekwondo. At the same time, well-known athletes were demonstrating each sport or event and its rules. During the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games, the Alpha Bank Panorama of Olympic Sports was visited by more than 460,000 people.
