Major distinctions for the Greek Shooting Champion

Alpha Bank has been proudly supporting Olympic gold medalist Anna Korakaki since 2018, actively contributing to the Greek Shooting Champion’s efforts for major distinctions at European and international events.

Anna Korakaki is the first Greek female athlete to win two medals at the same Olympic Games, as in her very first participation, at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, she won the gold medal at the women's 25m pistol and the bronze medal at the women's 10m air pistol.

The next major competition for Anna Korakaki was in May 2018, when she participated in the ISSF World Cup tournament held in the United States. At this tournament, she set a world record at the women's 10m air pistol and won the gold medal, also winning the bronze medal at the women's 25m pistol and another bronze medal at the mixed 10m air pistol.

In September 2018, Anna Korakaki won a gold medal at the World Cup held in Korea, hence earning a Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games quota place, the very first one for the 2020 Greek Olympic team.
In March 2019, the athlete won a silver medal at the Women’s European Championship and then, in May 2019, she won the gold medal at the Munich ISSF World Cup at the 10m air pistol, earning yet another important distinction. In July 2019, she won the first place at the women’s 25m air pistol, at the 2nd European Games in Minsk.

Anna Korakaki was born in Thessaloniki in 1996 and grew up in Drama. She became a shooting athlete when she was 12 years old. She is currently No1 at the pistol category in the ISSF world ranking and No 2 at the air pistol category.
