Since the launch of programme “Helping Hand” in 2012 and until the end of 2017, Alpha Bank has delivered a total of 24.000 carts with food supplies all over Greece.
In 2015, the Programme provided help to the Nursing Home of Grevena, the Hospice of Messinia, the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in Ioannina, the Holy Church of Aghios Dimitrios in Agrinio, the Holy Church of Aghios Nikolaos in Preveza and parishes of the Dioceses of Fokida, Orestiada, Polyani and Kilkis. Food supplies were also offered to the Holy Church of Evaggelistria in Nafplio, the Social Grocery of the Municipality of Halandri, the City of Athens Reception and Solidarity Centre (KYADA), the “Nestor” Psychogeriatric Association, the Charitable Company “Filoptochos Ermoupoleos Company” in Syros and the Holy Church of Aghios Athanasios in Evosmos, Thessaloniki.
In 2016, the programme “visited” the Holy Church of the Metamorphosis Sotiros in Kordelio, the Family Support Centre in Ano Platanos, Istiaia (Evia), the Cultural Centre of the Diocese of Nikaia (Attica), the Food and Clothes Bank “I Theoprosfora” of the Diocese of Korinthos, the Diocese of Lefkas and Ithaki, the Diocese of Monemvasia and Sparti, the Hospice in Pyrgos, Ileia (Peloponnese) and the Holy Church of Aghios Nikanor in Kastoria. Food supplies were also offered under the programme to the Social Groceries of the Municipalities of Halandri, Pallini and Thermo, as well as to the Foundation of the Foundation of the Aghios Ioannis Home for the Elderly in Talanta, Syros.
In 2017, the Programme visited the “Leontsineion” Cultural Centre of the Holy Diocese of Kythira, the Holy Church of the Metamorphosis Sotiros of the Holy Diocese of Mantineia and Kynouria in Tripolis, the offices of the Holy Diocese of Kifissia, Amaroussion and Oropos, the offices of the Holy Diocese of Larissa and Tyrnavos, the Organisation of Social Structures “Arogi” of the Holy Diocese of Thiva and Levadeia, the Holy Church of Aghios Vassileios of the Holy Diocese of Argolida in Argos, the Social Grocery “Ark of Love” of the Holy Diocese of Serres and Nigrita in Serres, the Holy Monastery of the Holy Virgin of Dovras of the Holy Diocese of Veria and Naoussa in Veria, the Offices of the Holy Diocese of Nikaia and the Solidarity Centre of the Municipality of Nisyros. Finally, to support those affected by the natural disasters of late 2017, food supplies were also delivered to the Social Groceries of the Municipalities of Mandra and Agrinio, as well as to the “Michaleleion” Home for the Elderly in Plomari, Lesvos, and the “Synanthropos” team of volunteers in Kapandriti, Attica.
In 2019, the Programme visited the Holy Diocese of Nikaia, the Social Grocery of the Municipality of Thermo, the Social Grocery of the Municipality of Pogoni, the Social Grocery of the Municipality of Egaleo, the Spiritual Centre of the Holy Church of Saint George (of the Hatzikostas Orphanage) in Keramikos, the Social Grocery of the Municipality of Chalkidona and the Holy Diocese of Sidirokastro. In total, 1.750 carts with food supplies were delivered.
