What are usage rights and which rights are available for each product?

Specific usage rights are available for each product via the Alpha e-Banking services (Alpha Web Banking, Alpha Mobile Banking, Alphaphone Banking). In particular, depending on the product, usage rights are the following:

Accounts:
Inquiry – the right to view the balance and activity of an account
Debit – the right to debit an account, i.e. to carry out transactions using the available balance of that account 
Credit – the right to credit an account, i.e. to transfer money to that account

Cards / Loans:
Debit – the right to debit your card or loan, i.e. to carry out transactions using the available credit of that card/loan
Inquiry – the right to view the balance and activity of a card/loan
Payment – the right to make online payments to a card/loan

Investments:
Inquiry – the right to view the balance and activity of your investment products

To manage the usage rights of each one of your products, choose Profile > Profile Settings within the Alpha Web Banking service. 
Alternatively, you can call us at 210 326 0000 (daily, from 08:00 to 22:30) and request to be connected to the Alphaphone Banking service, in order to set the usage rights for your products with the help of our specialist Agents. 


Useful Security Tips

  • Alpha Bank will never ask you for your access codes in any way (e.g. via phone or e-mail). These codes are strictly personal and you must never reveal them to anyone.
  • Select access codes that are not easily guessed and are not being used on other systems and services.
  • Keep the access codes confidential in a way that it is not feasible to be disclosed / stolen.
  • Log in to Alpha Web Banking only via the official website of Alpha Bank (www.alpha.gr) and never via other links appearing on other websites, search engines or e-mail messages.
  • Verify the validity of the Alpha Web Banking page and the security certificate by clicking on the lock icon in the address bar of the browser.
  • Update your PC with the latest versions and security patches of the operating system (e.g. Windows) and the browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox).
  • Inspect regularly your PC for viruses and other malicious programs using the latest versions of antivirus and antimalware utilities.
  • Ignore and delete immediately «suspicious» e-mails that ask you to provide your personal data, include links or attachments.
