In order to offer the Alpha Mobile Banking service in a secure environment, Alpha Bank obtained the WTLS protocol (for the WAP-based service), which offers internationally the maximum security for the transactions executed via a mobile phone. The WTLS protocol is corresponding to the SSL protocol on the Internet and ensures the encryption of the exchanged data.
Apart from encryption, subscribers use personal security codes (Used ID, Password) and the Additional Password, if available, in order to connect to the service.
If you wish, you may declare an alternative, easy-to-memorise User ID code (alias) and/or change your Password via Alpha Web Banking.
It is your responsibility to keep your personal security codes in a safe place. In the event of disclosure to third parties, you must notify the Bank immediately.
Alpha Bank will never ask, by any means whatsoever (via the phone or e-mail), for your personal security codes. They are personal and you must not disclose them to anyone.
If you mistakenly enter a wrong Password for 5 successive times, the system will not allow you to log-in for security reasons.
For security reasons, there is a limit of 30 minutes for the completion of the transactions (“Session Timeout”), after which, the session is terminated automatically by the system. Moreover, if after signing-on to the system you do not perform any transactions within 20 minutes, then you are again automatically disconnected (“Idle Timeout”).
The Bank uses additional security systems (Firewalls) which control and record the access to its systems and, at the same time, block any unauthorised action towards them.
