In every transaction executed, the messages exchanged between the client and the Bank's Web Server are encrypted (128bit encryption).
128-bit encryption means that there are 2128 possible keys that may be used to encrypt messages, though only one functions on each on-line session.
In the table below, you can see how each browser indicates the encryption when it is activated.
The following icons are placed in the status bar at the bottom of each browser.

Personal security codes
In order to use the service, your personal security codes (User ID, Password) are required.
In case of wrong password given, after 5 consecutive unsuccessful attempts to signon to Alpha Web Banking, your subscription is "locked" automatically.
It is your responsibility to keep your personal security codes in a safe place. In the event of disclosure to third parties, you must notify the Bank immediately.
Additional Password
In case you have activated the "Additional Password services", in order to signon to the service, you must also fill-in in the respective field the "Additional Password (6-digits code)" that is produced by the "Additional Password device". The usage of additional password is also required
for the execution of certain transactions (e.x. fund transfers to third parties' accounts).
The usage of the Device in combination with the User ID and Password provides stronger identification of the subscriber. The unique code that is produced each time by the device is based on a counter and a static, undetachable, symmetric key that is installed by the manufacturer at the device as well as at the central system of the Bank.
Automatic sign off
If after signing-on to the system you do not perform any transactions within 20 minutes, you are automatically disconnected ("Idle Timeout").
Upper transfer limit
The transfer limit to non-declared Alpha Bank accounts or other Banks'accounts as well as the payment limit to other banks cards' is confined by the "upper transfer limit".
Controled access
The Bank uses additional security systems (Firewalls) which control and record the access to its systems. At the same time, they block any unauthorised access to its database.
