Library

The Alpha Bank Library boasts a total of over 22,000 volumes and includes a large number of scientific publications which cover all fields of economics, legal publications and periodicals, as well as Greek and foreign encyclopaedias and dictionaries, historical works on ancient Greece and Byzantium, the main modern Greek Classics and studies based on their works. In addition, the Library possesses a growing collection of literary books by Greek and foreign authors.

Another category of special interest is the rich collection of editions of ancient Greek authors (in folio form) and of foreign travellers who visited Greece and its wider geographical area during the 17th through the 19th centuries.

The library also owns a comprehensive collection of history and geography maps, unique in Greece, and of great scientific value. These are history and geography maps of the Antiquity and the Middle Ages, issued by the Cartographic Centre of the University of Tübingen.

The Bank possesses one of the largest collections of ancient Greek coins in the world. As a result, the Library contains numismatic monographs, Sylloge Nummorum Graecorum, academic magazines and auction catalogues.

Moreover, in support of the Alpha Bank Art Collection the Library includes a collection of specialised publications which is constantly enriched.

The Library employs the Library Automation System of the National Documentation Centre (ÁÂÅÊÔ) 5.6. The books are classified in alphabetical order by author and subject.

The Library may lend books to members of the Group Personnel but all other interested parties are allowed to use the ''Pericles Komninos'' Reading Room on working days from 8:00 to 14:30.
