Alpha Bank Cultural Centre — Nafplion

In 2006 the exhibition space in the building owned by Alpha Bank in the historical centre of Nafplio was inaugurated. Every year, during the summer and autumn months, two exhibitions running alongside are presented on the two floors of the neoclassical building. These exhibitions are organised by the Art Collection Section and the Numismatic Collection Section, on subjects of contemporary Greek art and with characteristic modules of ancient Greek coins respectively.

The exhibition entitled ''Fred Boissonnas: Images of Greec'' is on display from 15 June until 31 October 2010. The exhibition includes 90 photographs by Fred Boissonnas (1858-1946), one of the most important photographers of the early 20th century, who captured Greece through its monuments but mostly through the natural landscape and the life of the people in the countryside.

The exhibitions which have been mounted up to now in the Alpha Bank Cultural Centre at Nafplio are the following: Yannis Moralis: Theatre - Music - Poetry and Journey to the Islands: The Numismatic Evidence in 2009, Mythological Themes in the Painting of Gerasimos Steris and Portraying Mythology: The Image of Myth on Ancient Coins in 2008, Affinities: Flowers in Greek Art and Plants on Ancient Coins in 2007, Works by Peloponnesian Artists and Ancient Coins of the Peloponnese in 2006.

During the winter educational exhibitions are organised which are intended for elementary and middle school pupils aged 10-14 years. The first module of the educational programmes which continues until today, began in 2008 with the exhibitions Printmaking and its Techniques and Learning about Coins.
